Get your tickets today at Eventbrite.com. \n \nPeter Breinholt is a well-known performer in the Salt Lake region and became so largely through word-of-mouth. His debut record became the best-selling independently released CD ever in the state of Utah\, and was described a decade after its release as “an underground classic” by Salt Lake Magazine. Peter has performed for countless sold-out crowds in every major concert hall in the state\, including Kingsbury Hall\, Tuacahn and Sundance. Peter was also honored with the Governor’s Award for Achievement in the Performing Arts for his influence as a songwriter and performing artist. \nWait until you hear the Taylorsville High School Madrigals. They are amazing auditioned singers under the expert direction of Leah Tarrant. The choral program at this school is fantastic\, and there is a long line every fall of students hoping to be accepted into the program. Come and hear them and you will see why. \nFounded in 1991 the West Valley Symphony of Utah brings together an all-volunteer ensemble of around 80 talented musicians from Provo to Tremonton delivering high-quality concerts ranging from classical masterworks to lively pops programs in West Valley City and the surrounding communities. The ensemble is also known for its performances on the WorldStage! Concert Series and is the official orchestra for the annual Larry H. Miller Christmas Carol Sing-along.

DESCRIPTION:The Choral Arts Society of Utah presents the 26th annual KUTV Holiday Pops Concert. The West Valley Symphony of Utah joins the choir\, with our featured guest artists Clara Hurtado Lee and the Cottonwood High School Madrigals. \nTICKETS AVAILABLE HERE \nReichel Recommends describes lyric soprano Clara Hurtado Lee as . . .“vocally stunning … nothing less than poetic.”  Clara’s 2022 season included performances of Messiah with the Utah Symphony and Oratorio Society of Utah; the release of her first EP recording with guest artists Jenny Oaks Baker and Nathan Pacheco; and an Italian concert tour that included Rome and San Marino. Earlier this year she collaborated with Gentri and premiered a new work Fils de Dieu by Jared Oaks with the UVU Women’s Chorus and Opera Contempo. She sang the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor with Lyrical Opera Theater; concertized with her group Divamoms; and performed First Elf in Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream with Utah Metropolitan Ballet. Ms. Hurtado Lee began her Doctoral studies in the Fall of 2014 at the University of Utah\, where she won a coveted spot in the Nancy Marriott Graduate Vocal Quartet. \nThe 100-voice Choral Arts Society of Utah is based in Salt Lake City. Many performances are free\, including the annual Armed Forces Day Concert and the Days of ’47 Pops Concerts at Abravanel Hall. It is an all-volunteer orchestra of 75-80 musicians from all over the Wasatch Front from Provo to Ogden. The West Valley Symphony of Utah joins the choir\, with our featured guest artist Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand. \n\n\nBluegrass Unlimited calls Ryan Shupe & The RubberBand a “fresh hybrid of new music influenced by bluegrass but featuring the percussive fervor of rock\, rap\, and other styles… They bring imaginative arrangements and daring musicianship to their quintet sound.”  Salt Lake City Weekly says\, “Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand are pros without peer… Their intense performance went far beyond ‘good’; try ‘humbling’.”  \n\n\nNow in its 35th year\, the Choral Arts Society of Utah’s 100-voice choir is based in Salt Lake City. In June of this year\, the choir performed a series of concerts in France\, including participating in the ceremonies at the American Cemeteries in Normandy. The choir’s most recent performance celebrated pioneer spirit in Salt Lake’s Abravanel Hall for the 25th performance of the Days of ’47 KUTV Pops Concert. Many of the choir’s performances are benefit concerts for schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to local areas. Most songs have corresponding music videos found on the group’s YouTube page. The recent Christmas hits\, Hamildolph and The Greatest Snowman\, went viral by Christmas\, Hamilton\, and Greatest Showman lovers alike. Over the years the group has received many awards including first place in Regional Harmony Sweepstakes\, “Best Vocal Group” in Utah’s Best of State awards\, “Group Recording Artist of the Year” and “Holiday Album of the Year” by the Faith Centered Music Association Pearl Awards\, “Best Holiday Album” in the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards\, and more. The greatest award though goes to the fans\, who allow the group to do what they love. \nThe West Valley Symphony of Utah\, with music director Donny Gilbert\, is well known for their participation in the KUTV Holiday Pops Concert. The 70-piece orchestra performs 5-6 concerts each year. Since 2016\, the orchestra has been featured at the Larry H. & Gail Miller Christmas Carol Sing-a-long at the Vivant Arena in Salt Lake City\, and will be featured again in this year on December 13th. \nMembers of the 100-voice Choral Arts Society of Utah volunteer their time and talents to provide quality performances\, many of which benefit schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to the local area\, including this benefit concert for the KUTV 2News Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.  The concert provides gifts of the season to hundreds of children and senior citizens along the Wasatch Front.  This is a wonderful family event for all ages and we will have a special visit from Santa Claus! \nWe thank the Joseph and Kathleen Sorenson Legacy Foundation\, Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation\, and the Salt Lake County Zoo Arts & Parks\, putting your money to work for the arts.  We also thank KUTV 2News for their media support.
