SUMMARY:Fall Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Choral Arts Society of Utah Master Chorale performs folk songs and choruses from classic operas by great composers at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville\, on Saturday\, October 14\, 2023\, at 7:00 pm. \nOne of the great things about music is the unifying effect it can have on unique populations of countries around the world. Through folk songs from Germany and Czechoslovakia\, to the rolling hills of west Texas and the swamps of the deep south\, we are able to feel the deep devotion to their heritage\, traditions\, and souls as the Choral Arts Society of Utah Master Chorale performs featured works by George Gershwin\, Oscar J. Fox\, and Johannes Brahms bringing the hearts and souls of great people into our hearts with their unique choral compositions. In addition\, we will feature selections of opera choruses great and small\, from Verd’s Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves to Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore. A special guest soloist is scheduled for this concert that you won’t want to miss. Admission is free\, so join us at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center on October 14th at 7:00 p.m. for this fun and uplifting concert. \nNow in its 36th year\, the Choral Arts Society of Utah’s 100-voice choir is based in Salt Lake City. The choir’s most recent performance celebrated the pioneer spirit in Salt Lake’s Abravanel Hall for the 26th performance of the Days of ’47 KUTV Pops Concert. Many of the choir’s performances are benefit concerts for schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to local areas. See a complete listing of the choir’s upcoming performances at www.casu.org or find them on Facebook\, Instagram\, and X! This concert is funded in part by grants from the Salt Lake County Zoo Arts & Parks (ZAP)\, the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation\, and the Joseph & Kathleen Sorenson Legacy Foundation.
