Armed Forces Day Concert

May 20, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm

SALT LAKE CITY – Music Director Sterling Poulson and the Choral Arts Society of Utah invite you to an evening dedicated to honoring our men and women in the Armed Forces. It is a free event, and parking is free under the plaza. This is a community-focused event honoring our men and women in uniform past and present.

The Choral Arts Society of Utah was proud to perform at the June 2022 D-Day ceremonies in Normandy, France in honor of those who gave their lives for the cause of freedom.

The evening entertainment begins at 5:00 p.m. with the 23rd Army rock band Article 15.  The band and choral concert follow with patriotic favorites, concluding with a rousing rendition of John Philip Sousa’s Stars & Stripes Forever.

Bring your family and enjoy plenty of food, fun, support service booths, and great entertainment. The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs will honor outstanding service members and employees from military units across Utah.

The Utah National Guard 23rd Army Band has played for Presidents, Senators, Congressmen, and Heads of State.  It gives clinics and concerts for schools, plays at civic functions, marches in parades, and provides music for military balls, changes of command, and pass-in-reviews. The rock combo Article 15 will make you smile regardless of your generation.

The Salt Lake Scots Pipe Band has emerged as the premier pipe band in Utah, attracting some of the top pipers and drummers from Utah and its neighboring states. The band competes and performs throughout the western United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, occasionally attending the World Pipe Band Championships held in Glasgow Scotland.

Now in its 37th year, members of the Choral Arts Society of Utah volunteer their time and talents to benefit schools and organizations offering humanitarian services to the local area.  For more information on upcoming events, please visit our website at www.casu.org, and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
